A New Way to get VegasTaT Updates
Hey Folks,
First, let me thank all of you who have followed, supported and contributed to VegasTodayAndTomorrow.com.
A good portion of the emails I get are from readers requesting an RSS feed so they can get VegasTaT updates dynamically.
2009 is certainly a year for change - so I thought it was about time to bring VegasTodayAndTomorrow into the web 2.0 world. This blog will be the new format in which updates will be presented. It also allows you (my readers) to leave comments (and you know you will). It also gives me a place for odd news items, rumors, commentary, rants, raves and such.
The sidebar (on the right) has the RSS feeds
Click them to add VegasTaT updates to your Google, Yahoo and other homepages.
Also, there is a field to enter your email address if you wish to be notified whenever I post an update.
I think this format well suites and enhances VegasTodayAndTomorrow. I have been beta testing it for a while now and I guess it's ready to go. Please feel free to register and comment. I will be monitoring the comments several times a day to keep the spam out, so you may not see your posts right away. I welcome your suggestions as well.
For you old-schoolers, the original (legacy) updates page will continue to be maintained.
Cheers,
Mark Adams

Hey Mark, I am following your site for two years now and it's always a pleasure to read. Keep up the good work. Welcome to Web 2.0 (how I hate this phrase...)

ya, web 2.0 is a dorky phrase (but it is what it is)

I'm not sure that I know what I'm doing but, let's say this is a test of Marks Blog. Also the word "blog" is used by many people but, I think, not as many average internet users use it. This is just my opinion and the first time I have ever interacted with a BLOG.
One more thing, great work VegasTAT.
Spell check doesn't recognize the word internet? What's with that?

lol, we were just discussing the spell check phenomenon last night. Microsoft's spell check doesn't know a lot of common computer terms (like blog and RSS). You'd think they would add these terms to their dictionary

I like the blog idea for the updates, but how about posting the new updates themselves as blog items with tags for truly self-organizing content (instead of just links to the existing pages)? You could have a "photos" tag for posts with, um, photos, a "news" tag for news items, and then tags for individual properties, companies, etc. So a CityCenter item would be tagged, say, "photos CityCenter MGM-Mirage", and then somebody could click on any of those tags for more items with the same tag.
I know a lot of work has gone into the existing pages on the site, but self-organization is the true "Web 2.0" way.
