New Photos of cityCenter and Cosmopolitan
I've been working on a large architectural rendering project for a client and haven't been spending much time on anything else. Well, that project is complete and I will be spending more time on VegasTaT.
I've uploaded several new photos of CityCenter and Cosmopolitan.
The Construction Stats page was also updated.

As much as I love vegas and all is creative and amazing buildings. I think that the picture "the wall" is a great example of a kinda sad new trend. I see three resorts and 8 towers, but they are all just big glass structures. Although I think that certain parts of the new resorts are interesting (The crystal mall for example). I fear that we will not see anymore new structures like Luxor, NyNy, Ceasers, and Excaliber. These are the buildings that help shape the truely unique skyline that vegas now is.

Ya! Las Vegas is apparently trying to "de-theme" itself... building like fancy contemporary resorts instead of like out there themed resorts
i personally don't like that... id rather see creativity but its still good i guess

I really hope MGM has some plans to add some color or variety to City Center....
If they can survive this mess with control over the project.

Off topic: Sounds interesting. Would you mind showing us some of those renders? What program(s) do you use?
I'm also doing some renderings when I find the time.
On Topic: That's a pretty large and expensive glass wall. I don't like the way it's placed directly next to the bellagio and ruining the magic of it.
And whatever happened to the themes? If I want to see to see towers with glass walls I can just stay in LA and drive through downtown.

themes are and its a good thing i live in vegas and most people here hate the themes every so often there are good ones like bellagio and ceasars but the excalibur and the nyny are just tacky plus as a las vegan im sick and tired of people talking down vegas because it is all fake. plus if they do build the plaza there is a new themed place i really hope they do because the designs are amazing.

I agree that it's a shame there's a trend now to build buildings that look generic towers in any other downtown city skyline.
I think though that after this round of development, in the next 10 to 15 years there will be a push-back to themes in order to differentiate properties.

My ideas for a nice compromise between visitors needing interesting themes and locals wishing for less cheesiness: if it can be seen from planes flying in and /or out then make it an interesting design from the sky like a butterfly (maybe shorter buildings but a few more to create the effect and stay in budget?) while keeping the "city" look from the ground, or make the buildings look like a waterfall from one side and New York-ish from the other. Keeps the motif classy and interesting.Give the interior a futuristic effect, stealing from Star Wars but not so much as to make it wierd, just enough to give it that feel.
