Sounds like a great plan that they have--and one that could indeed work out well. A South-Miami theme would blend well with the existing South Pacific feel.. However, the new owners are going to need to spend alot of $$$ on infrastructure repairs in addition to just the gaming and pool areas. Last winter on a damp day, the place had buckets in place to catch water falling from the ceiling at entrance of the west tower (where the covered walk connects to the other tower). There are alot of structural repairs that need to be made to the property--They need to address all those issues as well as the fun stuff...

Sure hope that it works out--it would be nice to see on of the classic old-school properties be restored.

Oh please!!! Dont preserve the Tropicana!!! Implode it!! Thats how we do things in Vegas. Build something exciting and creative to draw vistors in that competes with the MGM GRAND.

Vegas really needs a lift in throwing away the old!!!

They need to rework the interior spaces. The place is like a maze. Upstairs is mostly wasted space. The front needs a change as well. They may be a little optimistic with a 100 million dollar budget.

I would rather see it remodeled than imploded. I don't think The Strip needs another mountain of blue glass in it's place.
