Pirates, Cowboys and Cold Beer - oh my
I figured if Ruffin was going to put a Gilley's in TI, he would put it inside TI. But it is Ruffin and He did have "Cold Beer and Dirty Girls" on the marquee in front of The New Frontier. So now it's Cold Beer and Sirens...geesh. I think TI is headed for a clusterf***intacular theme. And you thought themes were a thing of the past.

Did he put Gilley's right over the water that was there? Or did he dam up and drain the water away from that part of the lagoon? Looks like it's sitting right over where the water used to be, right up to the sidewalk.

Maybe they can come up with a new show out front--Old West outlaws with six-shooters battling it out with musket-wielding pirates? Cool!

What a horrible idea, may and TI was my favorite hotel when MGM owned it. Looks like it might go down hill fast.

Why so harsh on TI. I have stayed at 13 hotels on the strip in the past couple years. TI has the best beds aside from Westin and Trump. They give a 30% discount if you book 3 months ahead. Then they kick out Audiger and put in Gilleys. To me this is more bang for your buck. More fun. I see Ruffin as making things happen. No $80 a plate outdoor bistro. Have a bbq and beer. If someone is drunk at Gilly other than white castle what do they want. Something thick and juicy and quick. I don't work here. Just like the changes that have taken place. haha when I get my damn job back will stay at the place again.

TI was also my favorite, have stayed there the last 3 times. But the last visit we were hit up for that extortion scam (they call it a resort fee). I will not stay here until they remove the FEE. As for the new front all uglied up with the new gilley's front. All I can say is REALLY?

The poor ol' TI was one of my favorite places when Steve Wynn was running the show. The casino was always packed, and the old pirate show kept the buzz going. Maybe TI was starting to get a little outdated, but MGM Corp. ruined everything that was great about it, just like everything else it got its greedy corporate tentacles into. I'll give Ruffin's plan for TI a chance, but his legacy of that dump he ran before scares me. On the plus side, I hope his purchase of TI is a sign of the beginning of the end of MGM's and Harrah's monopolization of the Strip. Good old fashioned competition has been missing from Vegas for awhile. Every celebrity chef has at least one ridiculously expensive restaurant, Cirque du Soleil has a half dozen shows going on, and people can only shop so much at national chain stores.
Maybe TI can shake things up. I can't stand all these "edgy" nightclubs that charge $9 for a beer. I come to Las Vegas to gamble and have fun, not to wait behind velvet ropes for a glimpse at some Hollywood celebrity trash.
So, good luck, Phil, but please, don't turn TI into a dump.

I know Phil Ruffin's Russian wife Oleksandra has contributed a lot to these low-end ideas.
They are so dirt-cheap, no-class, low-costing, unVegas-like, which would work very well in Moscow and Vladivostok.
Russian mentality never works in Vegas, much less the U.S.A.
