Trop's Tiffany Ceiling Will be Replaced
A new rendering (released by the folks at the Trop) show new glass inserts in the Tiffany framework. They are currently looking for someone who will preserve the old glass-work.

I like the new look, the old Victorian glass is nice, but it clashes with the bright new interior design.
I also included several new photos of the progress both inside the casino and of the Porte Cochère

Overall, the new lighting and floors definitely give the Trop a fresher, brighter look. The Tiffany glass was great for the original decor, but they are right about it not fitting with the "new" Trop. A tough time awaits trying to find a buyer for that much leaded glass--but it would be great to see it relocated.

I used to stay at the Trop quite a bit in the 90's and early 2000's. Had to stop going because it was becoming a disappointment. I am giving it another try in about a month. I hope it lives up to the expectations I have. We have a new paradise suite with adjoining deluxe room. Can't wait to try it out. The walkways leading directly into the casino is probably a good call. Thanks Mark for the pics.

why don't they donate some of the tiffany glass to the neon boneyard? sounds like a no-brainer for at least some of the glass...

I like the new glass design. The old glass design looked dreary. I'm happy to hear about the new entrance, but there's no details. Will the small booth in the front remain? They have the slot machine giveaways. I like getting the free card decks and food discounts from the coupon sheets. Is the museum inside still there? It's rather lame.

I'm happy with the new glass. it went from looking like a really nice tunnel into a nice ceiling. Sadly, the carpet kind of reminds me of wet fall leaves, witch doesn't really bring out the word "TROPICANA", or match the new tiffany ceiling. It might match the old one with all the dreary colors.

I will miss the old Tiffany ceiling, but understand that it would have been clashing with the new design. What will happen with it now, though?
