Green Light for Lady Luck

The city of Las Vegas approved the final plans for the Lady Luck reduex plans for the Lady Luck reduex. The  Mayors main concern the the bridge between the two towers. He felt it blocked the view of the new Mob Museum from peds on 3rd St.  CIM issued plans to strip the bridge and outfit it with glass walls, minimizing the visual obstruction.

CIM expects to start construction later this year and plans for a 2012 opening.

Reno's downtown isn't bad, it's just boring. Downtown Vegas isn't boring, and all the hotels are nicer, and Lady Luck won't help because it is not right on Fremont street.

I hope CIM buys other hotels like circus circus and imperial palace. then they can close them down, lie about fixing it up, and then eventually make them look all nice and everything.

I absolutely loved the old Lady Luck. It was my favorite hotel in all of Vegas. I hope the new place will be just like the old place, but I guess I doubt it. It had a sucky casino but the hotel rooms were very nice for the price. I would love it if the new hotel had cheap rooms just like the old hotel, but as I mentioned, if they are doing a total remodel, I figure they will want to charge more. It's too bad. The old Lady Luck was awesome. great comps too. I liked gambling there and getting all my meals comp-ed.

Since Lady Luck has been shut down so long (Feb 2006), there will be additional costs to refit the two towers. Buildings sitting idle tend to decay.....especially the plumbing systems. CIM may well find some hefty bills to get those buildings up and running again. Case in point--the Sahara discovered it was going to cost about $20,000 per room to retrofit the plumbing in the elderly Alexandria tower....ouch!

My wife and i were married in Vegas in 1994. My aunt and uncle went with us because my wife and i had never been to vegas. We all stayed at the Lady Luck, and had a great time there. I'm sure it will look nothing like it did, after the renovation. We have been to vegas a couple of times, before it closed. The Lady Luck was running down. It was a little sad. We loved downtown Vegas. We would casino hope from the lady luck all day long and it was so much fun. Then the closed Fremont Street, built the roof over it, and i hate it.
